Make Up Games for New Years Eve

2009 is right around the corner and there is no better time than a wild night out to play make up games. What you decide to do with your make up on New Years Eve depends a bit on what your plans are for the evening and even more on how wild you want to be. New Years is a celebration of the best kind, it’s the perfect excuse for wild make-up.
Go Glam
You might decide to copy the look of one of your favorite stars from the red carpet. This works best if you’re going to a party, but even if you’re just going to the movies, throw on a bit of glitter and an updo and you can make anything a true production.

Go Girly
Take it back to the essence of being female with smoky eyes and red pouty lips. Wear your hair down and consider some curls or waves. Pair your girly look with something slinky or short to really have a good time for the evening.

Go Funky
Ever dreamed of looking like a rock star? This is your big chance. Get some serious hair product and s[ike your hair or get a nice tease going. Your make-up should be wild with plenty of eyeliner and a funky lip color – have fun!

New Years Make Up Games

New Years Parties are a great time to go all out on the make up games. Invite some friends over and pool your make up do that you have a huge range of options available. Then get started.

For a New Years party you want to have enough make up on to really shine under any bright dance lights without looking like you’re wearing a lot of make up. This can be tricky to say the least.

Start with a solid foundation and layer of powder that matches your skin tone exactly. This way, no matter how close your date gets for that New Years Kiss or how powerful the black lights are, you’ll look natural.

Put on some fake eyelashes just because this is the perfect time and layer on the eye make-up. New Years is the perfect time to look sleek and sultry. Finally, put on a kissable lipstick or gloss. You don’t want it coming off onto all those boys you’re going to kiss!

Learning From Make Up Games

The best games to learn from are make up games. In many cases, when you see someone wearing make up, you know they have it on, but you can’t always pick out exactly what she has done to make herself look so good. Online make up games can make it much easier to find out exactly what steps she took.

Make up games make this much easier however, but showing you exactly what a face looks like before and after you add each item. Start with a blank face and add a bit of blush to lighten up the face overall. Then start with the eye make up. Experiment with different colors to see which makes the biggest impact with eye colors and then be sure to apply mascara as well.

Online make up games let you see the impact of different colors, textures and application styles. It’s an excellent training ground for those just learning about make up, and it also makes for a great opportunity to refine your skills and learn some new techniques if you’re an old hand.

Learning New Make Up Games

Where do you go to learn new make up games? I like to know the latest and greatest trends in make up games, so I usually look in a few places to be sure I’m all caught up with the times:

Beauty Magazines – Beauty magazines are naturally full of advice and techniques to use when applying your make up. They show the new trends and fashions as well as some old classics. Beauty magazines are always a good choice.

Fashion Websites – There is a lot of information to be had on fashion websites, even some that normally feature something besides make up. Look around at pictures and games and be sure to read the articles to find out what is new on the sites and in the world of fashionably make up.

Friends – I have some friends who seem to be pros at coming up with new make up techniques. These friends come to school looking great and half the time it takes me a day to come up with the reason why. Make up changes are almost always the reason.

Teaching Make Up Games to Your Friends

If you’re really good with make up games, it’s very likely your friends have asked you to teach them how to do make up as well. When you have the opportunity to do this in real life, you should. Playing make up games online is one thing, but when you have a chance to teach a friend how to use make up games, you’ll be helping her, but you’ll also be helping yourself examine your techniques and making them even more natural to you.

Start your lesson by looking over what make up items your friend already has. Then loan her some of yours for the day or go to the store to buy a few more items if she needs then. You can then get started on the real meat of the lesson.

Teach her how to prepare her face by cleaning it and then applying moisture. Add the make up items step by step to show her the proper technique and which colors to use each time. This will help her remember how to do her make up right every time.

If you really want to teach her what to do, you can apply make up to half of her face and allow her to apply the make up to the other half. If she can match what you’ve done, you know you’re done a good job teaching.

Start Your Own Make Up Games

A short walk through the local mall will show you that the biggest thing for little girls these days are make up games. You like the kind of make up games you can use that are really just practice for the real deal, but more and more eight-year-olds are having birthday parties where they get dressed up and then highly glamorized when someone comes to do their hair or they visit the make up game parlor in the mall.

If you’ve been looking for a part-time job that you’d really love to do, this is the right one. Why not start your own make up games that little girls can enjoy? You probably can’t afford to rent space in the mall, but you can put together a crate of goods to take with you to birthday parties and such.

Advertise yourself using business cards, fliers and word-of-mouth. Start with your friends and their parents then ask them to mention your business to others who might be interested. Know your price ahead of time as that is the first thing a future client will ask, but then go out and do what you enjoy doing – introducing little girls to a life of glamour and make up games!

Make Up Games and Winter Nights

There is something about a cold winter night that makes girls want to play make up games. If you have a friend over, be sure she’s brought her make up with her and the two of you can sit down in your nest of pillows, blankets and quilts and do makeovers. Put on each other’s make up and take a look in the mirror to see how you like your new look.

Use books and magazines to get ideas about new ways to apply make up and get some tips. Take turns putting on the first round of make up and then look in the mirror together. Then, both of you wash your face and go back and do another round. Try to make each round of make up different from the round before.

For example, you might do casual make up in the first round and then go back and do glamour make up in the second. When everyone has her face done, pull on those wooly socks and sit down in front of the computer to play a few more make up games before you have to wash your face and go to bed.

Find Great Gift Ideas with Make Up Games

When it comes to your friends, there is nothing sweeter than getting exactly the right gift. The trouble is, sometimes you don’t know what the right gift is and it’s very possible your friend doesn’t either. This is where make up games can come into play.

Invite your friends over for a make up party. Bring a make up guide along to see what colors everyone needs to be wearing and flip through magazines looking for new styles and things to try. Then get busy experimenting. Add a bit of this and some of that until your friends all look terrific.

But helping them with the make up they have isn’t truly the gift, it’s the fun way to prepare for the gift giving. As you play around with make up games, take notice of what your friends have to borrow from each other and especially what items nobody seems to have that would have been fun to use or try. Then, when the party is over, head to the store and actually buy those particular items for friends. Make up a small gift bag for each with the desired cosmetics.

Bring the bags to a Christmas party or to school and distribute. You’ll be the life of the party and know that you gave a gift everyone truly enjoys.

Make Up Games Prepare You for the Holidays

Is your make up ready for the holidays? I sincerely hope so! After all, Christmas comes but once each year, and this is truly your year to shine. In fact, I hope you literally shine with the glitter and glam of holiday make up.

Holiday Make Up
Normally you might use a bit of shimmer to make your skin look bright and healthy, but the holidays are the excuse you’ve been waiting for to make yourself look glamorous and festive with bold strokes and glitter. Most holiday events are in the evening, so you’ll be able to pull your look together using the more generous evening make up looks and make up games can help.

Make Up Games
Practice applying holiday make up on the models in make up games. Start with a concealing base, add a shimmering powder and blush. Then get started on your eyes. You want them to really pop, so add a glittery shadow, a dark liner, plenty of mascara and possibly even some fake eyelashes. Be sure to use a sprinkle of glitter along your shoulders and cleavage as well to really make sure you shine.

How Not to Play Make Up Games

Like make up games? Have you ever wondered if you might be playing with your make up in the wrong way? It’s very possible you have been as there are certain things you should avoid when playing make up games.

Don’t Share Mascara – Your eyelashes have millions of microscopic critters on them. When you share mascara, you’re trading your critters with a friend, and you can actually agitate your eyes.

Protect Your Lipsticks – Your friend might ask to borrow your lipstick or lip gloss. You might hand it over without a thought, but should you? In fact, if your friend is sick or has a little cold sore or fever blister, you might very well wind up with germs on your lipstick. And when you put on your own lipstick later, guess what else you just smeared on your lips and into your mouth? Ew!

Light Strokes – When you apply make up, you should be using light strokes. Don’t put any of your make up on too heavily. Use a light stroke of base, power and blush as well as a light stroke of mascara. Make up shouldn’t be heavy.

How Young is Too Young for Make Up?

If you’re anything like me, you might have been told that you’re too young for make-up. Of course, I’m a bit older now and I don’t have to hear that anymore, but I remember well that when you’re ready to try it out, there is nothing more frustrating than not being allowed to wear it.

Make Up Games Bridge the Gap
While you’re waiting for a magical birthday or permission from your parents, you can make yourself feel better by playing make up games. These games let you practice your makeup abilities and learn how and why you use different products. See what a different blush and mascara can make and try on a bit of eyeliner if you have a steady hand.

You can play make-up games with leftovers from your mother’s make up or with a friend, or you can play them online. Online make up games let you play with make up, but you don’t have to risk getting caught with it on your own face. You put it on the face of the doll in the game, and you can experiment and learn all without having to wash your face or hide the evidence at the end of the day.

Holiday Make Up Games

What better time than the holidays to play with your make up games? With so many holiday parties and chances to try new things, you really should take advantage of the opportunity to see how you look in different styles of make up. Most of the fun is trying out things you might not normally try, so be brave and daring – be creative!

Start Small
With holiday make up games, you can start small by trying new additions to you daily routine. You might add a few extra lashes to extend the lash line or try a new eyeliner to see how much your eyes can pop with one color versus another. Try new types of makeup and new brands

Build a New Look
Over time your look can transform form one face of make up to another entirely different one. In the winter, you’re able to wear more make-up than the light and airy summer months, so try bases and moisturizers to see what feels best on your skin and what looks best with your clothing and skin tones. When you find the looks you like the best, you can make them your holiday staples and use those techniques for every holiday gathering.

Make Up Games – Metallics

As the holidays approach, so do holiday parties. Holiday parties are the perfect time to try out new looks, and if you haven’t played with metallic colors in your make up games, this is the year to try.

Determine Your Hues
Metallics are available in a variety of shades and hues, but you must choose the one that makes the most sense with your skin. Consider your skin tone. Would you describe it as ivory? If so, silver and platinum shades make perfect sense. Olive skin tones will wear gold well, and bronzed skin tones will naturally do well with bronze metallic shades.

Wearing Metallics
To wear metallics, you must consider the weight of the metals. For most metallic shades, they are too heavy to wear to school or to work during the day. Instead, they should be used at night as part of your going-out or holiday look. Even then you want to minimize your metallics so that they colors can make an impact, and not one of heavy metal.

Start with a shimmering base and then add a swash of metallics to your cheeks. A metallic eyeshadow, dark liner and dark mascara will finish out the look.

Make Up Games: Autumn Tones

It’s officially fall and very quickly moving toward winter. Fortunately, the more somber tones of autumn are perfect for all winter months. When you go to apply make up in the fall, you should choose shades that are suited for the season and the kinds of clothes you’re likely wearing. Shimmer and shine is great for the summer when you’re racing on the beach and playing outdoors. But the fall is more about football games and Homecoming dances and your make-up should make the switch, too.

Use Creamy Earth Tones
The best bet for autumn colors is a set of creamy earth tones. Every skin type looks great in earth tones, you just have to decide which tones are right for you. Very pale skin looks great with jewel tones of greens and blues. Deeper olive tones call for browns, orange, reds and grey blues. Dark skin can use reds and purples to make a rich look for fall.

Use a strong moisturizer as there is less moisture in the air. Then apply a light foundation to even out your skin tone. Dust on powder and apply blush to help give your face life under your hood and hats. Rich tones on your eyes and lips will complete the look and don’t forget a thick coat of mascara as well.

Wind-Proof Make Up

The wind in the fall and winter can be brutal, especially to a carefully made up face. The stinging wind can strip your face of moisture, and just when you think that’s bad, the wind makes your eyes tear up and you find your make up running, your face chapping and wish you could just wash it all off and crawl back in bed to rest.

You don’t need to give up, although more rest is always good.

Start with a thick coat of lotion and foundation. The dry winter wind strips moisture from everywhere, not just your face. Apply lotion everywhere every day and put on a thicker layer of moisturizer on your face. Be sure to use a sunscreen in your moisturizer to keep your face protected – the sun isn’t just a worry in the summer months.

Use waterproof eye makeup. Your eyes might run from the changed in temperature and humidity, so be prepared with waterproof eye makeup. A big pair of sunglasses will help to protect your eyes (and eye make up from the wind as well.)

Use blush. The wind will likely make your face red, and you might be tempted to skip blush. But using blush helps the redness from the wind look a bit more planned and taken care of while it fades back to a normal tone.

Make Up Games for the Stage

There are those who go to the theater and there are those who own it. The theater is a very special place and what happens inside those hallowed, and often haunted, halls is pure magic in the making. If you’re planning a career on any stage, you might need to brush up on your make up games.

Getting It Right
When you’re on stage, the bright lights are forgiving of tiny imperfections, but they can also wash you out completely if you don’t apply enough make up to make you features sharp under the lights. To get the right balance of make up and grease paint, you must practice your make up application the same way you would for the play.

Don’t wait for the full dress rehearsal to try out your new face. Instead, take an extra ten minutes a few times a week to practice with your make up. This gives you a chance to practice putting it on your face as well as gives others a chance to see what you’ve been up to on the make up front. If you’re not careful, you might become the official make up artist for the whole troupe.

When Life Calls For Make Up Games

Have you ever had a day that just needed to end? Nothing seems to go your way and you just feel blah about everything – including your appearance? On days like this, you need something more than an afternoon latte. You need make up games.

The Fun of Make Up Games
Make up games are great fun for anyone who wears make up on occasion. In make up games, you take the products you usually use on your face and embellish them with new styles and techniques as well as adding a few new products as well. At the end of the game, your face looks fresher and ready for a close up!

Overcoming Anything with Make Up
Make up isn’t a drug and it isn’t a form of group therapy. What it can do, though, is to change your mood and your outlook. By changing your outer appearance, you’ll likely be more inclined to do something about your internal appearance. If you’re feeling weary and depressed, taking time to do something new and fun to your make up can make you feel flirty and young again.

You can also glam up after a boring day so that you feel more like a grown-up and less like a school girl. Or take your make up to a new place by switching to sweet pastel shades and going for a naughty school girl look. Whatever look you seek or enjoy, makeover games have a very real place in the lives of many girls.

Make Up Games – Online or Off?

So do you play your make up games online or off? If you’re truly hip to the wonders of the make up game, you probably play them both places. In fact, you can think of the online make up games as the make up classroom, and then you must take what you learn and use it in real life, much like homework.

Online Make Up
When you head online to play make up games, you have a chance to see various make up options, all of which are considered acceptable by those who design make up styles and application. Sometimes you might find something unusual, but for the most part, you can see exactly how to apply eye shadow, blush and more. Not only do you learn how and where to apply the make up, you can also see what shades and styles look best with particular eye colors and skin tones – very useful in the real world of make up.

Regular Make Up
When it’s time to play with make up at home in front of the mirror, all the practice you’ve done with your online make up games will definitely come in handy. You’ll know what colors to use and what styles to follow as well as the tricks of the trade you’ve seen in action. All in all, you’ll be able to design a great look for your make up based on what you’ve seen online.

Autumn Make Up Games

With the coming of autumn comes the end of the light and airy summer make up. Now that fall has arrived, you need to be protecting your skin from the wind and cold by applying a thicker layer of moisturizer both day and night and toning down any flair in the make up you’ve been wearing.

Cold Weather Protection
As the weather cools off, you’ll likely notice your skin feeling drier. This is due to the drier air outside and the intense baking heat of the heaters turned on in your home, your car and your school. The heater and wind sucks the moisture right out of your skin so your dewy good looks can start to feel tight across your face and even start to chap a bit.

Fix this by applying a nice coat of moisturizer every morning and, after washing your face at night, apply a night cream to help replenish the moisture that has been seeped from your skin during the day.

Autumn Colors
You should also use more earth tones and less pastels and bright shades now that it is fall. Browns, black, grey, reds, and deep blues are nice shades for fall and will give you a more serious look for the season.

Make Up Games: Boys Wearing Make Up

Should boys wear make-up? It’s up to the boy, but if you have friends that think it would be fun to try out some mascara and eyeliner to make a gothic or creepy Halloween look, you can certainly help.

Boy Makeup
Some boys wear make up all the time just like girls. These are boys who are looking for a dramatic rock star look or boys who happen to prefer the oil free glow of a fresh face, in other words, the boys are models or want to become models. Most boys would never food with makeup unless their girlfriend pushed them to try it.

If you’re going to put make up on a boy, start with three basics – eyeliner, mascara and maybe chapstick. Boys don’t usually wear base or powder as these are too much like “girly” make-up items to use, but they might be willing to ring their eyes in liner to get that intense brooding punk look.

Help your guy apply black eyeliner around his eyes staying inside the lash line. Boys should probably line the whole eye – not just the top of the eye as girls do. Think of the boy makeup more like theater makeup than “normal.” Finish off the lined eyes with mascara and a bit of chapstick and your guy is good to go – until he gets tired of the game and washes it all off again.

Make Up Games: Halloween Glitter

If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a thousand times – glitter is out and shimmer is in. Except on Halloween, of course. Halloween is all about bold costumes and getting noticed. The other exception would be when you’re on stage in a competition or pageant – glitter is okay then as you must be seen from a distance.

But regardless of distance, this Halloween, you can enjoy your glitter in many different forms without worrying that you’re using too much or putting it in the wrong places.

Halloween Glitter
The best places to put glitter as part of your Halloween costume is in your hair, on your shoulders and around your eyes and forehead. If you think about pixie dust, you can better understand how glitter should be used. If Tinkerbell were to dust you in glitter, where would it land? In your hair, on your shoulders, on your cheeks, forehead and eyelids, You might get a bit in your cleavage, too, but that’s risky.

When applying glitter, it is always best to start by applying a very thin coat followed by another. There’s a point of too much glitter, so taking baby steps with your glitter will help you avoid reaching that point.

Make Up Games: Becoming a Kitty Cat!

One of the most enjoyable Halloween costumes you can wear is a cat suit. You can be a cat just by wearing a leotard, tights, ears and safety pinning a tail to your hind end. Of course, your cat suit won’t be complete without a suitable cat face.

You can make your cat face authentic by gluing on whiskers, but for our simple kitty cat face, we’ll go with the drawn on variety.

After applying base, use a heavy black eyeliner to outline the top and bottom of your eyes. Stretch the outside of the eye up and out by making a sweeping stroke out to the side of each eye. This gives you the upturned eyes of a cat. Apply false eyelashes if you have some and then apply a few heavy coats of mascara.

Take a black face paint or pencil and color in a triangle nose – the wide part of the triangle should be on the bottom. A delicate nose is best, but your nose can be as wide as you’d like.

Once your nose is in place, draw two curving lines down from the nose (between your nostrils) to be your mouth. Finally draw in a few whiskers on either side of your painted nose – if you have costume whiskers, you’d glue them on with eyelash glue.

Make Up Games: Fairy Faces

Have you ever wanted to make a fairy face? Halloween is the perfect time to test your make up game abilities by creating a beautiful glowing ambiance suitable to a fairy.

Start with a good washing and then apply a moisturizer. You’ll want your face hydrated and protected from the face paints that are to come. Use a heavy base on your entire face and blend it carefully into your neck. Don’t yet apply powder

Use grease paints or Halloween face paints to create vines, cobwebs and butterflies on your face. Fairy make up games should be delicate, so opt for pastels and keep your designs light. A scrolling vine and flowers down your cheek might be an option or you might want to crown your brow with scrollwork and color.

When you have your designs complete, dust your face lightly with glitter. You can apply a bit of extra glitter over the area you just colored if you’d like. Finally, cover your entire face with a transparent power, like your face powder, to help blend the paint into your normal make-up – this makes it appear as though it is part of your face, a bit muted, but still sparkly.

Dealing with Raccoon Eyes

Raccoon eyes, or sometimes Owl Eyes, are the dark rings you get around your eyes every time you sleep in your make up or start to get a bit teary in a good movie. The mascara and eyeliner seeps away from the careful application and into the soft skin under the eye. The end result is two black eyes that you wouldn’t want the world to see.

Remove the Make Up
To get rid of raccoon eyes, you must first remove the make up. Since your eyes are the most delicate part of your face, use an eye make up remover to carefully lift away the old make up and residue from the fine skin under the eye. Never scrub at this skin.

Cleanse the Area
Make up remover, even those targeted for eyes, might not be enough to actually cleanse the skin – it depends on the remover. Use a gentle face wash to clean your face well, including the under eye area. Sleeping in make up is one of the worst choices you can make for you skin so make it up to your face by taking care of it now.

Moisturize
Finally, all that cleansing will sap the moisture from your eye area. After cleaning your face, use an all over moisturizer. Then, use a special eye cream designed to give your eyes deep moisture. This is your apology for making your eyes suffer with the black circles in the first place.

Make Games with Your Little Sister

Once you start wearing make up, it won’t be long before your little sister decides that she needs to wear make up, too. Once she decides that make up is a good thing, your job is to simply convince her that you are the perfect person to help her learn the ropes. Likely she’ll be easy to convince, and you now have the perfect model for make up games.

Traditional Make Up Games
Most make up games are played at slumber parties or online. Applying make up to someone else lets you build up your skills with cosmetics and lets you have fun changing someone’s look. With most friends at a slumber party, you’re able to do make up once, possibly twice. With a little sister, you have unlimited options – she’s your sister, she has to play along.

Young Make Up
Make up for young girls is different from make up for older teens and adults. If you’re just playing around the house, you can give her a full face of make up. But when it’s time for her to go to school or to leave the house for another activity, you are responsible for helping her to remove the make-up. Young girls don’t really need to wear more than lip gloss and maybe mascara when they are out in public.

Making Up with Make Up

There are few girls out there who haven’t had a make-up disaster at some point. You might have gone the day with raccoon eyes thanks to smudged mascara or you might have issues finding the right color power and base and looked a bit vampirish for a week before a friend told you the truth. Whatever the case, if you’ve been scared off make up games, this is the perfect time to come back.

Finding the Right Products
The key to success with makeup is two fold. First you must find the right products to use and then you must learn to use them correctly. If you tend to forget about makeup you’re wearing and smudge it frequently, opt for waterproof or smudge proof varieties to help keep you safe.

Powers and bases that are now blended for multiple skin colors are on the market making it easy to find one that will blend with your skin, even if you’re not sure what kind of skin tone you have. Buying make up from a “real” make up store can also make a difference when the sales lady helps you pick out the right shades. She can also give you tips to putting on the new make up as well making the process easy and welcoming you back to make up games.

Three Make Up Miracles

If you’ve ever wondered why some women are obsessed with make up games, you likely haven’t been around long enough to know the secrets of make up. These make up miracles have transformed some women into goddesses – not because the makeup makes that big of a difference, but it can boost their self confidence.

Mascara
If you want to play up your eyes, mascara for many women and girls is the essential product. Those with light colored lashes especially look dramatically difference once they apply mascara. Even those with dark lashes already can look difference once their eyes pop a bit from a crafty mascara wand.

Lipstick
Most lips have a bit of color already, but for a lot of women, their lips are almost the same color as their skin. This means that they fade into their face and don’t stand out. Putting on a layer of lipstick or lip gloss can make a mouth go from blah to kissable in seconds.

Concealer
If you have skin problems or skin that tends to be different colors in different spots, concealer can be your best friend. It can hide dark smudges under your eyes, make red spots fade away and even create a smooth complexion when you don’t actually have one.

How Make Up Games Help You

It’s tough to ask, but when you don’t have a clue how to put on make-up, you have a few places to turn. You can ask your friends to show you, you can do some trial and error, or you can learn via make up games.

Friendly Application
When your friends help you learn to use make-up, you’re counting on your friends actually knowing what they are doing. If you trust them, but they are only figuring it out themselves, you might end up looking more like a clown than a fashion model.

Trial and Error
You’re going to have to practice with make up at some point to be sure you’re getting it applied correctly. Of course, it’s much easier to practice and try on different kinds of make up after you know what you’re doing – otherwise you might as well be finger painting with all those tubes and jars.

Learning from Make Up Games
Make up games can show you exactly how to put on make up and even let you practice on models online before trying it at home with real cosmetics. This lets you learn in secret and gives you the chance to suddenly become the make up expert around your circle of friends without ever giving your secret away.

Common Mistakes with Make Up Games

Make up games are fun, but they can be tricky at times. There are more than a few mistakes that can be made, and unfortunately, most mistakes are pretty easy to see since they are written all over your face!

Your base and power don’t match. Your base and powder should blend into your skin tone. If they don’t, you’ll look a bit orange or ashy and you’ll be able to see the line on your skin very easily. Get help from a make up consultant at a counter to get a good base or bring a friend and test each color on the back of your hand to find a good match.

Your concealer is too light. Your concealer should be one shade lighter than your foundation. If it’s too light, you’ll get a reverse raccoon effect – i.e. your under eye area will be lighter than everything else on your face.

Your eye makeup is too heavy. Eyes are easy to play up, but when you play them up during the day, you run the risk of looking like you’re heading to a night club instead of math class. Keep it light and airy. You can save the smoky lids for evenings or fun makeover parities.

Make Up Games: The Make Up Artist

For many out there, make up games on the computer are just the beginning of your life long dream to become a make up artist. If you have a desire to become a make up artist for the stars or perhaps on Broadway some day, you need only e your goal high and research what it will take to reach it.

For example, if you want to do make up in Hollywood, more than anything else you’ll need some experience, some credentials and you might need to know someone to help you get your foot in the door. Gaining credentials requires taking classes in a local cosmetology school or in a theatre program associated with make up artistry.

Early experience comes even more easily when you use make up games online to learn some tricks of the trade and then begin to experiment with colors and textures of make up on your willing friends. Soon you’ll have much of your make up figured out and be ready to take on the world of fashion, acting and the make up each requires.

A Tale of Two Eyebrows

Every girl should have two neatly trimmed eyebrows. If you look in the mirror and see only one eyebrow, you’re in need of a trim. Likewise, if your eyebrows seem to be two inchworms crawling across your head, some tweezers might do you some good.

Creating Eyebrows
If you’ve never had your eyebrows waxed or plucked, you should seek out the help of a professional. Your friend might be great with the tweezers, but when it’s something as important as your face, you don’t want to turn her loose to make your forehead accidentally bald.

Locate a professional waxer in a local beauty center or salon. You can find a make-up artist or other make-up professional to pluck your eyebrows rather than waxing, but the wax creates a cleaner look with far less time involved. Make an appointment and spend some time looking at pictures of eyebrows you like.

Then, the waxing pro will talk to you about how you want your eyebrows shaped. Eyebrows should follow the natural shape of the brow, while creating a gently slope. There are many variations on eyebrow shapes, so be sure to discuss your particular eyebrow preferences with the beautician before she applies the wax.

Taking Advantage of Make Up Games

Make up games are a great way to enjoy yourself online and off. The skills you learn in make up games can help you in your everyday life as well. Many girls lament over the fact that they don’t have their own make up artists or teachers to help them learn the best ways to apply make up, but when you consider all that make up games have to offer, you’ll soon realize that you can easily take advantage of all they can teach you.

Learn the Basics

Make up games are a great way to learn the basics of make up application. Just by watching some of the brush strokes used in the more realistic games can help you figure out how to stroke on powder and blush. You can also learn what the different make up elements are – base, powder, concealer, blush, eyeliner, eye shadow, lipstick and mascara.

Learning to Use Make Up
Learning to use those items on your own face is a slightly different matter but make up games let you experiment online before you begin experimenting on your own face. The more make up games you play, the easier it is to apply your own make up correctly.

Learning New Skills
Once you have the basics down and you know how to use all of your products, your next step will be to learn new skills and techniques as they are developed. This especially is what makes make up games so much fun.

Blush!

If there was a magical tool in your make-up kit, it would probably be concealer. Concealer is about the most magical thing you can find when you wake up in the morning with a big red spot on your nose, but concealer isn’t the only make-up games miracle. In second place, blush can give you a natural glow that makes you look youthful and full of energy – even when you’re not.

Think about what happens when you go outside to play. Your face gets a bit flushes and your cheeks turn pink. Whether it’s summer or winter, the glow of good health can easily be found simply by taking a walk or playing outside for a bit. Now, it can be applied with a bit of powder and a make-up brush.

To apply blush, you should first find a color that suits your skin tone – you want a pink or peach tone that appears natural with your overall complexion. Once you have your tone picked out, you’ll need to decide if you prefer a loose powder blush or a packed powder. You can also use a cream blush that you would simply smooth on with your fingertips.

Why Make Up Games Are Good For The Whole Body

When you play make up games, you’re likely using moisturizer which contains sunscreen. This keeps your face looking young and healthy for years, possibly decades, longer than skipping sunscreen.

Playing make up games gives you confidence in yourself. When you feel good about yourself you stand up taller and walk with pride and determination. This kind of walking and posture is good for your back, heart and lungs as your circulation is increased and you’re not hunching over hurting your back and constricting your abdomen and everything that is contained in there.

When you’ve been playing make up games, you probably looking your best when you get through. When you look your best, whether or not others notice, you’ll feel great about yourself. Not only will you walk a bit taller, but you’ll also have a mind that is content and satisfied with a very critical element of your well being.

You feel good, so your mind can rest knowing you’re taken care of. Looking good through make up games actually helps to reduce stress which has huge implications for your full body health.

When Make Up Games Go Wrong

It happens. Sometimes your best intentions go awry, and instead of painting on beautiful lash lines, you’ve turned yourself into Cleopatra complete with thick black sweeps of eye makeup. When you goof with make up games, however, there is little chance of a permanent problem. Most make up games are easy to fix and even easier to get right the next time.
Troubleshoot
If you look at your face or the face of your best friend after a make up game and realize that you’ve actually created apples on their apples of their cheeks, you’ll want to do a bit of a touch up on the blush. To do this, you can simply brush off some of the blush with your hands before applying more powder to the area and trying again.

If you have a small problem with out of control eyeliner or mascara, a wet tissue might be all you need to clean it up and give you an opportunity to fix the problem.

Restart
Sometimes, however, you just need a restart. When something major goes wrong or you don’t like the way things are turning out, wash your face to remove all the old make up and try again with a freshly cleaned slate.

Cleaning Up Make Up Games

After you play make up games, it’s very important to clean up properly. Cleaning up ensures your sink or vanity area stays clean, your make up stays clean and doesn’t get lost, and that your face is also scrubbed clean at the end of the day.

Clean Up Spills – If you were applying loose power of any kind, it’s extremely likely that some spilled on the counter or the dresser. Use a damp washcloth to simply wipe up the spill. If it got on the floor, a broom or vacuum will take care of the problem.

Clean Up Make Up and Applicators – If you notice your brushes getting stiff or your make up getting gunky, it’s time to clean those brushes and applicators and possibly clean out your make up. Make up has a shelf life. You don’t want to be using expired make up.

Clean Up Your Face – Nothing is more necessary after a good make up game than cleaning your face. Wash your face well to remove all make up and then apply moisturizer and cream to keep your skin ultra-hydrated and fresh for anther day of make up games.

Making Up Make Up Games

If you like make up games, you’ve surely noticed how much fun it is to make up you own versions of the game. If you like to do make up, you’re a creative individual. Creative individuals don’t like to be trapped inside a box of rules and regulations, so when it comes to your games, there shouldn’t be any.

When you make up your own make up games, all you need to do is remember the basics of any make up game:

  • Use clean products and be sure to clean your brushes after applying makeup on anyone but yourself. You don’t want to spread germs or rashes.
  • Wash your face both before and after you apply make up to be sure you’re not putting make up on an already oily face. Leaving it on at night is a sure way to wind up with acne. Keep your skin clean!
  • Use the right amount of make up for your age and game. If you’re playing a game at home, it doesn’t matter if you’re completely slathered with make up. But if you’re planning on going to school with a new look, you’ll want to be sure your make up isn’t too much for campus.

Make Up Games: Movie Makeup

Ever wondered what it take to make stars looks as great as they do? If you’ve been lucky enough to find a tabloid that has pictures of celebs without their make-up you already know that they often look a lot like us – until they are done up in their movie make-up.

You can play your own make up game by applying the thick coats of make-up used on stage and in the movies for a production of your own. I wouldn’t advise it for school as it might be a bit excessive.

Head to a costume shop or specialty make-up store and explain your desire to do stage or movie make up. You’ll likely be pointed to thicker versions of the kind of make-up you’re already used to. This make-up is designed to smooth your skin and hide anything not-perfect from the audience, so it will feel very heavy on your face.

Apply it like any other make-up, but be sure to apply enough to be seen from a distance. Keep it natural, but strong – You might put on eyeshadow, but use full strokes and do the whole eyelid, not just the lash line.

When you’re ready, turn on your own camera and record a few videos. Then check out how great you looked on camera – just like the stars!

How to Cover a Zit or Pimple

There are times that make up games really pay off – like when you wake up to discover you don’t just have a tender spot on your face – you have a full blown acne emergency. Relax if you can, and certainly don’t pick! Popping that pimple or zit might make things worse by opening up the sore to infection or making the infected area bigger and redder.

Wash and Wear
If you can, you should take your lumps and leave the zit exposed to the air. Air without any kind of make-up or clogging material is the best way to treat a zit short of a special acne medicine. If you’re tough enough, take your lumps in the best way possible – throw on some mascara and lip gloss and pretend it’s not there.

Conceal It
But if you just can’t stand it, concealing a zit isn’t too challenging if you know what you’re doing. Your first step will be to rummage through your make up to find a yellow-tinted concealer. Yellow will help make the red appear less, so you want to find a concealer close to your skin tone without being more than one shade off in either direction. And that concealer should have a yellow tone, even if your skin doesn’t.

Wash your face and treat with any acne medicine. Some people put a bit of toothpaste on a zit to dry it out, but I’m not going to recommend that. Once your spot is clean, don’t pop the zit. Instead, carefully dab a bit of concealer on after applying your base. Smooth the concealer out around the edges to blend with your makeup and dust over everything with powder. The spot will likely still be raised, but it won’t be a glaring red sign of acne any more.

When Acne Strikes

It’s happened to everyone, and if it hasn’t happened to you, it will eventually. You wake up in the morning and feel the tender spot of a zit forming or see the pimple ready and waiting on your nose. What do you do when acne strikes? No make-up game prepared you for this!

Assess the Situation
If you have a raised spot, it’s going to be pretty clear no matter what you do, although can try to diminish the redness with concealer. If you have a zit that you can feel, but the world can’t see – count your blessings. Don’t acknowledge it and maybe it will just go away.

Wash Your Face
The first step is to wash your face. Acne is caused by oil, make-up and dirt in the pores. If you have a blemish, your first step is to clean it to hopefully remove the dirty stuff and help it heal faster. You should be washing you face with a mild cleanser every night to avoid these little guys, but sometimes they happen anyway.

Use a Toner
Grab your alcohol based toner and a cotton ball to do a spot treatment. Apply a dab of toner to the blemish to help dry it out and finish cleaning out the infected pore.

Don’t Squeeze!
As tempting as it might be, avoid squeezing the zit or pimple. This will actually open the pore up more and could cause infection and a worse blemish. Keep it clean until the spot goes away on its own.

What Does Your Lipstick Say About You?

Lipstick and lip gloss says a lot to others about what you might be up to or what kind of person you are. Yes, we should never judge others based on appearances, but haven’t you ever just wondered what someone else is up to in glossy red lipstick?

Bold Lip Colors
Dark lipsticks and bright reds are symbols of being grown up and ready for a party. You don’t see many bright red lips during the day when make-up is more subdued, but at night, the real make up games begin. Sport your shiny red lips and let every see how kissable they are.

Pinks and Peaches
Pink and peach lips are pretty and nonthreatening. They are perfect for the day at school or work. Very neutral, these are always an option for just about everyone.

Gloss
Lip gloss is suitable for people of all ages, and is fine for all occasions. It’s the totally universal lip wear. The only thing you might see more is Chapstick, and you can’t see that at all.

Sparkle
If your lips sparkle, you’re saying one of two things. The first is that you are young and having a great time playing make up games. The second is that you’re ready for a bit of dazzling night-life. Have fun!

Skin Care 101

As you start to grow up, your skin takes the brunt of the hormones and other changes in your body. You used to just run a washcloth over your face and be done with it, but now you need to take care of your face with the right kinds of products to battle oily skin.

Soap
Start by washing your face with a facial soap. There are plenty out there, so find one that suits your complexion. If you have acne, find a soap to help reduce it. If you have dry skin, a moisturizing soap will help. Wash your face every night with a mild face soap and be sure to never sleep in make-up. Wash it all off.

Toner
Every three nights or so, use a toner to clean your skin more deeply. A toner is based on alcohol, so too much too often can dry out your skin in a bad way, but every so often, a toner can help to penetrate pores and lift some of the deeply embedded grime away.
Moisturize
Just like you wash your face every night, be sure you use a good moisturizer every night. At night apply a deep moisturizer that is not oil based. Look for one that says oil-free or is part of the acne clearing line of products. Use a light moisturizer with sunscreen every morning to keep your skin young and healthy for years to come.

Create an Evening Look

Evening make up is more complicated than the fresh day-time look we wear so easily. To create an evening look, you’ll need:
  • Face lotion
  • Foundation
  • Powder and Brush
  • Blush and Brush
  • Highlighter
  • Lipstick
  • Mascara
  • Eyeliner Pencil
  • Eye Shadow
Start by washing your face and applying lotion. Then carefully smooth on the foundation. Dust your face lightly with power to set the foundation and you’re ready to begin. Sweep a covering of blush up the apples of your cheeks. Make a fish face to find the best indentions to use. You can be a bit liberal with blush so long as you don’t look like a clown when you’re through.

Move on to the eyes. Apply a bit of highlighter to the inside of each eye and along the bottom eyelashes. Apply a light eyeshadow on the top lid and then the darker shade along the crease of the eyelid. Extend the dark shadow up and out a bit to elongate the eye and then use a brush to blend. Put a dark line of eyeliner along your lashes – in the lashes not on top of them. Finally, apply two coats of mascara to bottom and top lashes.

Your last step is lipstick. I like bold colors for nights, but be sure you invest in the kind that doesn’t kiss off – you might kiss someone, but most likely you’ll just want to avoid getting lipstick on your teeth and cup.

Pouty Lips

Angelina’s back in the news and although it’s not for her beautiful mouth, seeing her smiling over the twins reminds us how great her lips really are. If you weren’t blessed with Angelina style lips, you can still get a great pout if you apply your make up properly.

Invest in a thick lip pencil the same shade as your pink or peach lipstick. You’ll also need a high shimmer lip gloss.

Fill in your lips with the thick pencil. You should outline you lips carefully to stay inside the lines. Going outside the lines might make it seem as though your lips are fuller, but in reality you just look like a clown. Stay in the lines and fill your lips in with the pencil to make your entire lip the same pink color.

Then go over your lips with lipstick. This shade should match the pencil. The lipstick will give your lips a bit more definition and polish. The final step, however, is to emphasize the pout. You do this by putting a single line of shimmer gloss on the middle of the bottom lip. This makes the bottom lip look fuller and much more kissable.

Got Shimmer?

If make up games are your thing, it’s likely you already know that glittery glam is very much on its way out. In its place is something much more refined and elegant – shimmer.

Where glitter was large splashes of shine and substance, shimmer is too subdued to be able to identify easily. It’s more like lightness on the face than a hard shine. Shimmer is found in all kinds of make up from foundations to eye shadows. Blush, lipsticks and brighteners all have a bit of shimmer to help your face brighten up and glow this summer.

If you’re not yet familiar with the concept of shimmer and how to use it, head to a favorite cosmetic counter to check out the items available. One of the sales ladies can assist you and explain what each does, but for the most part all traditional items work the same way, but have a bit more lightness to the tone they leave on your skin.

A stick of shimmer can be used to make your whole face look different. Apply a bit at the inside corners of your eyes and on the brow bone. Blend and your look is dazzling. It’s important to remember, however, that there can be too much of a good thing. Don’t overdo shimmer – it’s best in small doses.

Make Up Games: Fun with Face Painting

If you’re familiar with the basics of face painting, you can have great fun experimenting with different looks and designs. Face painting can be as simple as a rainbow on your cheek or much more complicated.

The Decoration
If you want to start small, simply add a small decoration to your face much like you would at the school carnival or football game. Only instead of your school colors, you can create a gold star in the middle of your forehead or a sweeping green dragon down the side of your face.

The Mask
For a special occasion, such as a dance, you might enjoy creating a full-blown face painting by drawing on a mask. Use light, airy colors and be sure to use plenty of glitter to make your face mask sparkle. Sweeps and curls are appropriate, and you can always add elements to your mask that match your gown or outfit for the evening. Think of Drew Barrymore in Ever After, and you’ll have an idea of how to start.

Something Unusual
There is no limit once you start experimenting with face painting. You can create the face of an animal using your colors, much like the actors in Cats, or you can color your entire face like a mime if you like. Be a clown for a day or do your best impression of the Tribal Jack Sparrow. Whatever you decide to do, you’ll be having fun!

Make Up Games: Face Painting Basics

If you love to play dress up and enjoy being different and creative with your look, it’s a wonder you haven’t already discovered the fun of face painting. Sure, you can get your face painted at the fall carnival, but those aren’t the only options when it comes to face painting – you can do your own face anyway you like, whenever you like.

Rather than choosing the poster paints that are so favored at school carnivals, opt for high quality theater paints or costume face paints that are sold every Halloween. You can sometimes find them outside of October if you look hard, otherwise head to a costume shop that will have the specialty item. Be sure to pick up some face and body glitter as well.

If you’re gifted, you’ll be able to paint a little something on your own face with the help of a mirror, but you might want to invite an artistic friend over for the first foray, at least. She’ll help you hold the mirror, paint in the hard spots and create a design.

Wash your face and apply plenty of moisturizer before beginning. When your skin is moist and ready, begin working with the crayons or paints to give yourself a bit of artistic flair the entire world can see and enjoy.

How to Use Concealer

Almost every girl will need to know the secrets of concealer at some point. Concealer is a miracle worker when you have a spot or didn’t sleep well the night before and are now battling dark circles under your eyes.

Before you start using concealer, you must be sure you have the right shade. Concealer should be one shade lighter than your skin color. If your skin gets darker in the summer, you might actually have to own two concealers – one for pale skin in the winter, and one for bronzed skin in the summer.

Apply the concealer in small dabs – not swipes. Swiping concealer on under your eye will make you look like Rambo. Start with your eyes. Dot concealer on any dark circles you have under your eyes. You can also put a bit of concealer in the inside and outside corner or your eye if it’s light enough to act as a highlight.

Once you’ve dotted under your eye, use your finger to smooth it out and blend the concealer onto the dark area. Concealer should be applied after base, but before power. To cover spots, be sure the spot isn’t open as putting make-up in a bleeding area might cause an infection. Then, just dab on a little dot of concealer and smudge it into place with a finger. Always use your hands with concealer as it softens and smoothes more effectively with the warmth of your hands.

How to Make Yourself Look Older

It’s only natural to use make up games to make yourself look older. Who wouldn’t want to be mistaken for someone who is cute, confident and maybe in high school or college instead of stuck in the seventh grade?

If you want to try your hand at creating an older look, take a few tips from a pro:

Cut the trends. Yes, high school girls wear two-tone eye shadow, too. But more girls in college or high school wear simple, more neutral colors instead. Create a more natural, neutral look to avoid sticking out like a sore thumb.

Use eye shadow and mascara. You want your eyes to stand out, so doctor them up with plenty of eye shadow and mascara. This will make your lashes and lids darker creating a more concentrated effect on the eyes – the most prominent part of the face.

Go with a dark lip gloss. Young girls tend to wear pink gloss, so skip the light pink in favor or a salmon or red this time. Darker lips often mean more confidence, which translates to an older individual. Just skip lipstick for now, it’s not what you need.

Online Make Up Games

Not allowed to wear make up yet? It happens to the best of us. And when Mom and Dad have put their collective feet down, it’s time to take make up games to the next level. If you can put the make up on your real face, you can still certainly put it on a virtual face.

Online make up games offer you a lot more than you might realize. Rather than just clicking a color of eye shadow for a random girl online, you can make the make up game as basic or deluxe as you’d like. There are plenty of both available online.

In the more deluxe versions, you are able to upload a picture of your own face to use in the game. You will be able to brush on colors to your eyes, lips and mouth. Smooth away blemishes much like concealer and base would and then make your lashes darker and more luscious.

Even the basic make-up games can be highly personal. You get a choice of doll in most of the games and there are so many games available, you should be able to find a doll that looks a lot like you. Then you can apply make up to that doll and find the colors and application techniques that best suit you, too.
