Why I Love Make Up Games

Make up games are especially fun around my household. Not only do I have a rather astounding collection of play make up, I also have plenty of friends who like to play make up games with me. When we get together to play make up games, we always pool our various make up kits so we can see what all we have to work with.

Once we’re sure of the raw ingredients we have at our disposal, we’ll flip through various fashion magazines looking for some really outrageous makeup looks. I like the ones that include eyes full of eye shadow with glitter and gold. My friends have their own preferences, of course.

Once we have an idea in mind of what we’re going to be creating, we get started. The best make up games include everyone laughing and having a lot of fun. We want everyone to be excited about their look, so we’re careful to do the make up properly. If we have time and the resources, we’ll also grab a bunch of clothes and pull together a look transforming our make up games into a full makeover game.

Make Up Games and Skin Problems

As much fun as make up games can be, there are certain skin problems that can stem from playing them. Make up games are a great way to try different looks and learn to use cosmetics, but when you play make up games incorrectly or use the wrong products, you can be struck with various skin problems.

Clogged Pore – Your skin has fine pore which normally release toxins and other gross stuff from your skin. But when you put on make up and leave it on too long, you’re risking a block to one of your pores. If you wind up with a clogged pore, you’re likely to see something as lovely as a zit or pimple. Be sure to wash your face very well after wearing make up and never sleep in it as it can be damaging to your skin.

Rashes – Another common complaint from make up games are rashes. If you use a product that does not agree with you, your sensitive skin can certainly complain loudly. Beware of products that use heavy oils or fragrances. Everyone’s skin is different, but if your skin seems especially sensitive, stick to products that are designed for that sort of thing.

Make Up Games and the Summer

The summer is a fun time to play make up games, although it’s not the most popular time. Girls who spend a great deal of time outside during the summer aren’t as interested in putting on make up only to sweat it off again, so you can wager that most make up will be applied on days that you’re working inside or for evenings out with friends.

When you wear make up in the summer, opt for lighter coverage and avoid anything that looks or feels heavy. Light shimmering shades are pretty for summer while smoky eyes and heavy use of liner isn’t as attractive. Save those looks for the winter when you can pull off darker make up.

Your eyes will likely see the most make up, but don’t be afraid to keep it truly simple with a bit of eyeshadow or just mascara. There is little need for eyeliner in the summer as it might run a bit if it gets warm. Also always choose waterproof mascara just in case you find yourself at the beach at sunset and want to splash or swim.

Make Up Games: Sunburn Tips

When you get a sunburn, you really don’t want to put anything on your skin and I don’t blame you. However, a sunburn is damage to your skin and your makeup skills and knowledge will get called into play to try and cool it off, keep it from peeling and then hiding it as much as possible.

Of course you should always wear sunscreen, but if something went wrong out there and you wind up burned, take a cool shower immediately and then smoothe on aloe vera. Once the aloe vera lotion dries on your skin, pull on old, loose clothing. This is the time to relax and avoid clothing that rubs and that will agitate the sunburn more. A lose cami, or a shirt with a built it shelf bra is a nice choice for lounging about the house, but avoid straps and fasteners directly on top of the sunburn.

Before you go to bed, smear on a large amount of lotion and then put more on every few hours to try and keep the skin moisturized. A bad sunburn will peel regardless, but some sunburns will simply fade without peeling if you keep the skin moisturized. Choose a lotion without fragrance or special added properties. You can expect aloe vera to cool the burning, but lotion might trap the heat a bit and you’ll feel hotter. But as the sunburn cools on its own, your skin will be smoother and hopefully intact over the affected area.

Fixing Problems with Make Up Games

If there are problems with make up games, there are also solutions. Learning to handle the problems often isn’t enough if you’re looking to make a difference in the long-term. Fixing make up game problems can actually be a lot of fun.

Make up games can cause a lot of messes, especially when you play with a lot of people. But rather than limit yourself while you play, clean as you go. Grab a roll of spray and paper towels. If you spill something, wipe it up. If you have trash to throw away, don’t hesitate – chunk it in the trash.

Make up games cost a lot. If you’re worried about how much money you spend on make up games, and who wouldn’t be with the cost of make up, start by spreading the cost. Take friends with you and everyone buy a new item. Then you can share the items. If you’re on your own, look for sales or the less expensive brands.

Make up games aren’t popular. Actually make up games are popular around the world. If your friends don’t know about the games, let them know and show them what the games can do.

Problems with Make Up Games

Even with the things I love the most, there are problems at times. Make up games are no exception. Playing make up games with friends or online is fraught with potential problems. Learning to deal with those problems is simply par for the course.

Make up games are messy. Make up can be very messy, especially when you’re playing around and learning new things. The more make up techniques you try, the messier your results will wind up being. Of course your face might look great, but you’ll have to deal with the spilled powder, dirty sponges and general mess that make up creates.

Make up games get pricey. Make up games aren’t cheap, and having make up for make up games often means you’ll still need a new color or the latest and greatest of something that’s just come out. Make up game can be expensive, even the cheapest kinds, so don’t be surprised if your game costs your full allowance.

Make up games aren’t popular enough. It’s a personal opinion, but I find that online make up games simply aren’t popular enough. I want more of my friends to play so that I can have someone to chat with about it.

Make Up Games and Chapstick

Chapstick is an underappreciated item in your make up drawer. Chapstick is an item you can and should wear every day, and the more often you wear chapstick, the better protected your lips will be from the elements.

Chapstick is designed for cold weather situations where your lips can be dried out. The chapstick helps protect the lips from cold weather, wind and even sun if you buy the proper kind. These many different functions of a single chapstick make it easily the most versatile item in your cabinet.

In the winter, chapstick should be on your lips almost every minute. The inside of your home can be even drier than the outside thanks to the heater constantly running. When you wake up, put on some chapstick. When you go outside, put on chapstick. When you get home, apply chapstick and when you go to bed, apply some chapstick.

Apply chapstick at night will help your lips stay moist at night. Exfoliate your lips after your shower or after washing your face and then apply chapstick. You’ll have fresh, beautiful lips every morning that look great on their own or smooth under lip gloss.

Make Up Games and Mascara

Mascara is a misunderstood make up item. Many people use mascara, but they fail to realize how it should be applied and which color they should be choosing. Black mascara is not right for everyone, and when you apply mascara, you don’t need to apply it to every lash.

Pick the Right Mascara Color
Your first goal is to find the right color of mascara to wear. If you have fair lashes or even medium lashes, skip the black mascara. Opt for a brown mascara instead. The goal is to make your eyelashes show up a bit darker and to frame your eyes. If your lashes are light, the black mascara is too dark and will look unnatural around lighter eyes.

Apply Mascara to the Top Lashes
Apply the mascara to the top lashes starting at the base of the eye and pulling the wand up and out toward the tips. Be sure to get the entire tip. Wiggle the brush just a bit as you pull it through to break up any clumps.

Apply Mascara to the Bottom Lashes
When you apply mascara to your bottom lashes, apply it only to the outside lashes on the bottom. The lashes near the outside corner of the eye will make the eye look larger. Mascara under the entire eye will drag it down and make your eye look smaller.
