Make Up Games and Concealer

One of the most overused and under appreciated cosmetic, concealer is a way of hiding imperfections. Of course, if you’re going to use concealer, you’ll always want to be careful to use it correctly. After all, concealer can have a few extra tricks of the trade.

Buy One Shade Lighter
When you’re buying concealer, you should always buy concealer one shade lighter than your skin tone. The best way to check is to find a concealer that blends in easily without making a bright spot on the back of your hands or under your eyes. Otherwise you end up with the effect of a giant raccoon eyes – only in reverse.

A Dot Does a Lot
When you’re using concealer, you should only use a dot or two at a time. Don’t swipe it under your eyes. This will likely have the effect of white lines under your eyes. Use a few dots under the eyes and a small dot over the spots you’re trying to cover. Blend it in well and you’ll be set.

The Real Benefit of Make Up Games

I used to wear make up a lot with make up games. The make up I wore wasn’t heavy or overwhelming, it was more about looking good for myself and feeling good about myself than anything else. Then I stopped wearing it because I was spending so much time outside and it simply faded from habit. I’ve tried to restart many times over, but it’s very hard to do. I can’t get myself motivated to look good for me, and I’m reasonably sure this is about to change.

I’m remembering slowly the real benefit of make up games. I’m much more interested in finding ways to make myself look and feel better than I am in finding ways to simplify my days. I want to do fun things and I want to look good doing them. I bought new make up for some make up games last night and now it’s time to really start putting stock back into my appearance. Maybe I’ll start seeing real benefits of make up games again.

Make Up Games with New Make Up

Yesterday I bought new make up. I’ve wanted some new make up for awhile, and I’ll admit the make up I’m replacing isn’t even heavily used, much less worn out. I just finally decided it was time to quit messing around and start playing some serious make up games.

When I get home tonight, I’ll likely take my new purchase into the bathroom and start some serious new make up games. There’s just something special about playing make up games with new make up – it’s like a freshness and inspiration comes over you and you’re able to enjoy it that much more.

I don’t know if I’ll be able to focus enough on me and my appearance to start wearing my make up every day, but I hope I will. If I can master a five-minute face, it will be very easy to simply throw on some make up and get out the door looking far better than I would if I just left looking the way I am now.

Make Up Games and Lipstick

Lipstick has come and gone in popularity over the years. Just a generation ago, lipstick was the most commonly cited make up item. Lips were bright red and lovely with clear, bright eyes. Today we do our lips in a more natural shade most of the time, and finding a lipstick that works with your skin tone and make up choices is more complicated than ever. There are simply so many choices:

Lipsticks – The traditional lipstick is still available and there are more colors than ever. When you buy a lipstick, you can get the basics, or you can upgrade to a lipstick that stays in place or one that does extra duty moisturizing your lips.

Lip Glosses – The cousin of lipstick, lip glosses are shiny and bright. They are youthful and fun to wear since they aren’t as bright. They have a more natural appeal than the darker, thicker lip glosses, but aren’t always appropriate if you’re pulling together an evening look.

Combination Lip Wear – Finally, some make up games aren’t complete without a combination of lipstick and gloss. The lipstick goes on first and then a special gloss goes on over the lipstick. The combined effect is one of bright, shiny lips that are lovely and absolutely kissable.
