Girls and Their Make Up Games

Why do girls like make up games so much? Is it because they actually need the make up? In most cases this is the opposite of the truth.

Make up games are games. As girls grow up, they lose interest in the childish games they used to play and become interested in playing the kinds of games that will help prepare them to be grown-ups someday. Make up games are a natural options for this.

Make up games can be played in groups or solo. You have your choice when you’re playing make up games. You can pull out all of your make up and try new things on your own when you’re bored one Saturday morning, or you can have your friends over on that Saturday night to do each other’s makeup and see what new looks you create.

Make up games aren’t necessary. When something becomes necessary, it ceases to be as much fun. Right now make up enhances natural youthful beauty – why wouldn’t they like to play?

Should Boys Play Make Up Games?

It’s an interesting debate should you ever take part in a discussion on boys and make up. Should boys wear make up?

Some would argue no – that make up games are feminine and that boys who wear make up are sending a message about their gender. “Tough” boys wouldn’t be caught dead in make up, although they might play around with it when a girl they are flirting with tries to put some on him.

Others look to bands like Metro Station and Tokio Hotel and see that boys are wearing make up as part of their punk look. If the hot lead singers of bands are wearing make up, why can’t boys who like the look in the real world who just happen to not be on the cover an album. Do tight pants, punk hair styles and eyeliner make someone less manly? Judging by the number of girls screaming over boys who look exactly like that, I’d say make up games are just a natural part of certain looks and the world will have to get used to it.

Vampire Makeup

Everyone loves vampires these days, and with good reason. Vampires as good looking and the Cullen family deserve a bit of respect and admiration. But you have choices when it comes to creating your own vampire look.

White Face – the first step in this make up game is to use a very white base and powder to make your face as pale as possible. If you’re very tan or have a dark complexion, avoid going too light as it might make you appear ashy.

Red Lips – You’ll need a nice rich red lipstick. Lip gloss won’t do in this situation – you need the real thing. Use your red lip stick to color your full lips red, but don’t go outside the lines, you’ll risk looking like the joker.

Dark Eyes – Use eyeliner and mascara to make your eyes look dark and brooding. You might even invest in colored contacts to make the whole ensemble more impressive and realistic.

Make Up Expires!

If you’re like me, you have an astonishing collection of make up that you use primarily for make up games with friends. The only problem is that make up is time sensitive and you might be putting old and spoiled makeup on someone’s face, even if it doesn’t seem to be expired. Here’s a guide to about how long each item can last.

Anything that smells off or is too old to remember when you actually bought it should be thrown away immediately. There’s no telling what you’re putting on your face in that situation.

The shelf life of other products follows:
* Oil-Free Foundation: 1 year
* Cream or Compact Foundation: 18 months
* Concealer: 12-18 months
* Powder: 2 years
* Blush and Bronzer: 2 years
* Cream Blush: 12-18 months
* Powder Eye shadow: 2 years
* Cream Eye shadow: 12-18 months Eyeliner: 2 years
* Liquid eyeliner: 3-6 months
* Mascara: 3 months
* Lipstick: 2 years
* Lip liner: 2 years
* Lip gloss: 18-24 months
* Nail Color: 1 year

An easy trick is to write the date of purchase on all new make-up items bought. Then you have an idea of when to throw it out as well.

The Worst Make Up Game Mistakes

Everyone makes mistakes, but some people make bigger ones that others. Here are some of my favorite terrible mistakes:

Raccoon Eyes
When you line your eyes on the top and bottom with heavy liner and then use black mascara to make the rings around your eyes even darker, you’re running the risk of looking more like a raccoon than a sweet young thing. The problem gets worse when you use a dark eyeshadow as well.

Bleeding Lips
If you don’t’ naturally have thick, luscious lips, use a shiny lip gloss to make them look larger, but don’t go outside the natural shape of your lips with a lip pencil. This just looks scary and clown like. When you draw with lip pencil, you should be shading the edge of your natural lip not creating a new one half an inch down your chin.

Mismatched Base
When you wear base, it should blend into your skin perfectly. If your base is standing out as orange on your white skin or making you look pasty when you should look tan, you’ve got the wrong base. Ask an expert for a consultation to help you find the right one.

Drawing the Line on Make Up Games

Make up games seem to be full of lines. First you might have to wait in line for your turn in the cosmetics chair at the counter to buy new products, but the biggest lines in make up games are the ones you draw yourself.

The Lip Liner
Lip liner is really only suitable for older women trying to keep their lipstaick in place. It works as a fence to keep color from running into fine lines and wrinkles around the mouth. Younger people don’t need lip pencil – a shiny gloss or shade of lipstick is all you need to look your best.

Eyeliner
Eye liner is a great way to make your eyes really pop. But when you go to apply eye liner, you should use tiny strokes that connect to avoid drawing your line too thick or crazy. The eyeliner should be put directly in the lashline for the most natural look.

Eyebrow Pencil
Finally, you can use a pencil to resolve issues you might be having with your eyebrows. If your eyebrows are thin or were plucked a bit too enthusiastically, fix the problem with an eyebrow pencil. You can also use a slightly darker shade to make your light colored eyebrows more visible.

Three Benefits of Make Up Games

Make up games are truly special among the games that girls play. While the various fashion games can be teaching girls about what to wear and how to dress, make up games are actually teaching you a skill that will last you a lifetime.

Make up games show you how to apply make up. It’s simple really. When you use make up games as a tutorial for your make up, you have a chance to practice with instructions. And you can do as many practice sessions as you want to be sure you know exactly what you’re doing.

Make up games deliver every time. Every time you play a make up game, you’ve done a bit more to learn how to apply make up and which types of make up go well together. There is something to learn or practice every time.

Make up games make you look good. When you play make up games in front of the mirror, you’ll be helping yourself look great. A full face of make up is fun and it can boost your self esteem and productivity. Knowing you look good always does.

Five Tips for Make Up Games

Like make up games? You’ll like them better with these tips!

- Start with the eyes. The eyes have the most choices when it comes to shadows, eyeliners and mascara. Starting there will give you the most direction and will set the tone for the rest of the face. Bold eyes means muted lips and vice versa.

- Pay attention to eye color. Different eye color means you should be using different shades of eyeshadow and liner. True neutrals like beige and brown can be used on any eye color.

- Get a good foundation. Online or off, the foundation you select should blend naturally with the skin to become invisible and cover any spots or blemishes.

- Don’t use lip liner. Lips on young people are supple enough to hold gloss or lipstick without lip liner. Lip liner is for those with lines around their mouths whose lipstick might run.

- Always use mascara. Finally, always put on at least one layer of mascara. Darkening your eyelashes makes your eyes pop – regardless of their color.

Make Up Games: Choosing a Base

One of the most obvious mistakes people make when playing make up games is selecting the wrong base. Wearing make up doesn’t actually require wearing base to look good, but a sheer foundation under the rest of your make up can help your skin tone look more even and help to cover red spots that might be lurking.

Get Help
If you’re clueless about how to pick a base, get help from a sales representative. What she’ll likely do is pull over a card of shades or even hold up the bottles. Test a small portion of the base (when available) on the back of your hand. The one that fades away completely is the one you want. If you can see a color difference between your skin and your base, it’s not the right shade.

Use Your Hand
Unless you want to try various shades of base on your face, you should always use your hand to test the colors. This is because the backs of your hands get about as much sun as your face does and have a similar tone. If a base looks good on the back of your hand, it will likely be just as good on your face.
