Autumn Make Up Games

With the coming of autumn comes the end of the light and airy summer make up. Now that fall has arrived, you need to be protecting your skin from the wind and cold by applying a thicker layer of moisturizer both day and night and toning down any flair in the make up you’ve been wearing.

Cold Weather Protection
As the weather cools off, you’ll likely notice your skin feeling drier. This is due to the drier air outside and the intense baking heat of the heaters turned on in your home, your car and your school. The heater and wind sucks the moisture right out of your skin so your dewy good looks can start to feel tight across your face and even start to chap a bit.

Fix this by applying a nice coat of moisturizer every morning and, after washing your face at night, apply a night cream to help replenish the moisture that has been seeped from your skin during the day.

Autumn Colors
You should also use more earth tones and less pastels and bright shades now that it is fall. Browns, black, grey, reds, and deep blues are nice shades for fall and will give you a more serious look for the season.

Make Up Games: Boys Wearing Make Up

Should boys wear make-up? It’s up to the boy, but if you have friends that think it would be fun to try out some mascara and eyeliner to make a gothic or creepy Halloween look, you can certainly help.

Boy Makeup
Some boys wear make up all the time just like girls. These are boys who are looking for a dramatic rock star look or boys who happen to prefer the oil free glow of a fresh face, in other words, the boys are models or want to become models. Most boys would never food with makeup unless their girlfriend pushed them to try it.

If you’re going to put make up on a boy, start with three basics – eyeliner, mascara and maybe chapstick. Boys don’t usually wear base or powder as these are too much like “girly” make-up items to use, but they might be willing to ring their eyes in liner to get that intense brooding punk look.

Help your guy apply black eyeliner around his eyes staying inside the lash line. Boys should probably line the whole eye – not just the top of the eye as girls do. Think of the boy makeup more like theater makeup than “normal.” Finish off the lined eyes with mascara and a bit of chapstick and your guy is good to go – until he gets tired of the game and washes it all off again.

Make Up Games: Halloween Glitter

If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a thousand times – glitter is out and shimmer is in. Except on Halloween, of course. Halloween is all about bold costumes and getting noticed. The other exception would be when you’re on stage in a competition or pageant – glitter is okay then as you must be seen from a distance.

But regardless of distance, this Halloween, you can enjoy your glitter in many different forms without worrying that you’re using too much or putting it in the wrong places.

Halloween Glitter
The best places to put glitter as part of your Halloween costume is in your hair, on your shoulders and around your eyes and forehead. If you think about pixie dust, you can better understand how glitter should be used. If Tinkerbell were to dust you in glitter, where would it land? In your hair, on your shoulders, on your cheeks, forehead and eyelids, You might get a bit in your cleavage, too, but that’s risky.

When applying glitter, it is always best to start by applying a very thin coat followed by another. There’s a point of too much glitter, so taking baby steps with your glitter will help you avoid reaching that point.

Make Up Games: Becoming a Kitty Cat!

One of the most enjoyable Halloween costumes you can wear is a cat suit. You can be a cat just by wearing a leotard, tights, ears and safety pinning a tail to your hind end. Of course, your cat suit won’t be complete without a suitable cat face.

You can make your cat face authentic by gluing on whiskers, but for our simple kitty cat face, we’ll go with the drawn on variety.

After applying base, use a heavy black eyeliner to outline the top and bottom of your eyes. Stretch the outside of the eye up and out by making a sweeping stroke out to the side of each eye. This gives you the upturned eyes of a cat. Apply false eyelashes if you have some and then apply a few heavy coats of mascara.

Take a black face paint or pencil and color in a triangle nose – the wide part of the triangle should be on the bottom. A delicate nose is best, but your nose can be as wide as you’d like.

Once your nose is in place, draw two curving lines down from the nose (between your nostrils) to be your mouth. Finally draw in a few whiskers on either side of your painted nose – if you have costume whiskers, you’d glue them on with eyelash glue.

Make Up Games: Fairy Faces

Have you ever wanted to make a fairy face? Halloween is the perfect time to test your make up game abilities by creating a beautiful glowing ambiance suitable to a fairy.

Start with a good washing and then apply a moisturizer. You’ll want your face hydrated and protected from the face paints that are to come. Use a heavy base on your entire face and blend it carefully into your neck. Don’t yet apply powder

Use grease paints or Halloween face paints to create vines, cobwebs and butterflies on your face. Fairy make up games should be delicate, so opt for pastels and keep your designs light. A scrolling vine and flowers down your cheek might be an option or you might want to crown your brow with scrollwork and color.

When you have your designs complete, dust your face lightly with glitter. You can apply a bit of extra glitter over the area you just colored if you’d like. Finally, cover your entire face with a transparent power, like your face powder, to help blend the paint into your normal make-up – this makes it appear as though it is part of your face, a bit muted, but still sparkly.

Dealing with Raccoon Eyes

Raccoon eyes, or sometimes Owl Eyes, are the dark rings you get around your eyes every time you sleep in your make up or start to get a bit teary in a good movie. The mascara and eyeliner seeps away from the careful application and into the soft skin under the eye. The end result is two black eyes that you wouldn’t want the world to see.

Remove the Make Up
To get rid of raccoon eyes, you must first remove the make up. Since your eyes are the most delicate part of your face, use an eye make up remover to carefully lift away the old make up and residue from the fine skin under the eye. Never scrub at this skin.

Cleanse the Area
Make up remover, even those targeted for eyes, might not be enough to actually cleanse the skin – it depends on the remover. Use a gentle face wash to clean your face well, including the under eye area. Sleeping in make up is one of the worst choices you can make for you skin so make it up to your face by taking care of it now.

Moisturize
Finally, all that cleansing will sap the moisture from your eye area. After cleaning your face, use an all over moisturizer. Then, use a special eye cream designed to give your eyes deep moisture. This is your apology for making your eyes suffer with the black circles in the first place.

Make Games with Your Little Sister

Once you start wearing make up, it won’t be long before your little sister decides that she needs to wear make up, too. Once she decides that make up is a good thing, your job is to simply convince her that you are the perfect person to help her learn the ropes. Likely she’ll be easy to convince, and you now have the perfect model for make up games.

Traditional Make Up Games
Most make up games are played at slumber parties or online. Applying make up to someone else lets you build up your skills with cosmetics and lets you have fun changing someone’s look. With most friends at a slumber party, you’re able to do make up once, possibly twice. With a little sister, you have unlimited options – she’s your sister, she has to play along.

Young Make Up
Make up for young girls is different from make up for older teens and adults. If you’re just playing around the house, you can give her a full face of make up. But when it’s time for her to go to school or to leave the house for another activity, you are responsible for helping her to remove the make-up. Young girls don’t really need to wear more than lip gloss and maybe mascara when they are out in public.

Making Up with Make Up

There are few girls out there who haven’t had a make-up disaster at some point. You might have gone the day with raccoon eyes thanks to smudged mascara or you might have issues finding the right color power and base and looked a bit vampirish for a week before a friend told you the truth. Whatever the case, if you’ve been scared off make up games, this is the perfect time to come back.

Finding the Right Products
The key to success with makeup is two fold. First you must find the right products to use and then you must learn to use them correctly. If you tend to forget about makeup you’re wearing and smudge it frequently, opt for waterproof or smudge proof varieties to help keep you safe.

Powers and bases that are now blended for multiple skin colors are on the market making it easy to find one that will blend with your skin, even if you’re not sure what kind of skin tone you have. Buying make up from a “real” make up store can also make a difference when the sales lady helps you pick out the right shades. She can also give you tips to putting on the new make up as well making the process easy and welcoming you back to make up games.

Three Make Up Miracles

If you’ve ever wondered why some women are obsessed with make up games, you likely haven’t been around long enough to know the secrets of make up. These make up miracles have transformed some women into goddesses – not because the makeup makes that big of a difference, but it can boost their self confidence.

Mascara
If you want to play up your eyes, mascara for many women and girls is the essential product. Those with light colored lashes especially look dramatically difference once they apply mascara. Even those with dark lashes already can look difference once their eyes pop a bit from a crafty mascara wand.

Lipstick
Most lips have a bit of color already, but for a lot of women, their lips are almost the same color as their skin. This means that they fade into their face and don’t stand out. Putting on a layer of lipstick or lip gloss can make a mouth go from blah to kissable in seconds.

Concealer
If you have skin problems or skin that tends to be different colors in different spots, concealer can be your best friend. It can hide dark smudges under your eyes, make red spots fade away and even create a smooth complexion when you don’t actually have one.
