Make Up Games – Metallics

As the holidays approach, so do holiday parties. Holiday parties are the perfect time to try out new looks, and if you haven’t played with metallic colors in your make up games, this is the year to try.

Determine Your Hues
Metallics are available in a variety of shades and hues, but you must choose the one that makes the most sense with your skin. Consider your skin tone. Would you describe it as ivory? If so, silver and platinum shades make perfect sense. Olive skin tones will wear gold well, and bronzed skin tones will naturally do well with bronze metallic shades.

Wearing Metallics
To wear metallics, you must consider the weight of the metals. For most metallic shades, they are too heavy to wear to school or to work during the day. Instead, they should be used at night as part of your going-out or holiday look. Even then you want to minimize your metallics so that they colors can make an impact, and not one of heavy metal.

Start with a shimmering base and then add a swash of metallics to your cheeks. A metallic eyeshadow, dark liner and dark mascara will finish out the look.
