Skin Care 101

As you start to grow up, your skin takes the brunt of the hormones and other changes in your body. You used to just run a washcloth over your face and be done with it, but now you need to take care of your face with the right kinds of products to battle oily skin.

Soap
Start by washing your face with a facial soap. There are plenty out there, so find one that suits your complexion. If you have acne, find a soap to help reduce it. If you have dry skin, a moisturizing soap will help. Wash your face every night with a mild face soap and be sure to never sleep in make-up. Wash it all off.

Toner
Every three nights or so, use a toner to clean your skin more deeply. A toner is based on alcohol, so too much too often can dry out your skin in a bad way, but every so often, a toner can help to penetrate pores and lift some of the deeply embedded grime away.
Moisturize
Just like you wash your face every night, be sure you use a good moisturizer every night. At night apply a deep moisturizer that is not oil based. Look for one that says oil-free or is part of the acne clearing line of products. Use a light moisturizer with sunscreen every morning to keep your skin young and healthy for years to come.
