Make Up Games and Base

Base is the foundation for all the rest of your make up games. When you put on your make up in the morning, you should start with a clean face and a bit of lotion. Once the lotion has absorbed, use a light coating of base to even out your skin tone. You can do this with a spray base and a sponge. Or use a damp sponge and a bit of cream base. Dot a few spots on your face and then blend it with the sponge. Use your fingers as little as possible for this stage – the damp sponge will help you get your base level even and light – fingers aren’t as good at doing that.

Outside of how you apply your base, you need to spend some time thinking about what color your base will be. Your base should be the same as your skin tone. If you tan a bit during the summer month, you might need to have a different color base for those months. All told, you might have two different bases, and sadly the best way to decide is a bit of trial and error. If you can test the products, test them on your cheek to find the base that appears to disappear. That will be the right color for you.
