Make Up Games: Essential Make Up

I love make up games, but I’ve also been known to walk out of the house without any make up and without any cares in the world. Having make up on is not a criteria for beauty as there is so much natural beauty in every woman’s face. However the right make up items can certainly enhance a woman’s beauty.

Mascara – Mascara is a nice start to any make up addition. Mascara makes your eyelashes darker and helps your eyes really pop out of your face – visually, not literally.

Lotion with Sunscreen – Facial lotion with sunscreen is an absolute essential even if you don’t wear any other make up. Wearing lotion will help your skin stay hydrated and fresh. The sunscreen inside the lotion requires no additional thought and protects you skin from the damaging rays of the sun.

Lip Gloss – Lip gloss is lighter than lipstick and comes in a huge vareity of colors and textures. The lip gloss makes your lip a bit shiny which helps them appear fuller and more luxurious.

Make Up Games and Sunscreen

Sunscreen is a critical part of any make up game. Make up games simply don’t work the same way without good use of sunscreen. Sunscreen does more than protect your skin from cancer. It does a great many things both in the short and long term.

Sunscreen keeps your skin smooth. The sun is responsible for much of the damage we suffer as we age. The drying and wrinkling of skin is partially created by overexposure to the sun’s dangerous rays.

Sunscreen reduces brown spots. Sun spots, or brown spots that show up on your face, hands and arms are caused by sun exposure. Protecting your skin early helps to prevent those sunspots later in life, and you’ll be very glad you smeared it on.

Sunscreen is brainless. You likely already put on moisturizer every day, so putting on moisturizer with sunscreen is not a big deal at all. It’s already take care of when you smooth on your lotion. The lotion will keep your skin moist and smooth and the sunscreen will help to be sure it stays that way.

Make Up Games and Your Lips

Lips are very much a part of make up games. When you go to put on make up, often the make up looks unfinished without a nice coating of lipstick or gloss. Finding the best lip covering is up to your overall look and the style of lip covering that you feel most comfortable with.

Lip Gloss – Lip gloss is a light covering that can be glossy and can, on occasion be sticky or gloopy if you use too much or use the wrong brand. Lip gloss looks great alone or with make up. Choose a pink or peach color to make your lips look great even without make up.

Lip Stick – A traditional lipstick is available in a huge range of colors, and the number of colors can make it hard to find the best one. Match your lipstick shade to your skin tones and the rest of your make up. If you wear oranges and browns, make sure your lipstick is in the same family of colors. If you use pinks and blues, your lipstick should be similar.

Lip Pencils – One option is to use a lip pencil to get some color on your lips without using a gloss or lipstick. The lip pencil might be a liner that is normally used just on the outside of the lips, or it can be a larger pencil that colors in the rest of your lips as well. Lip pencils tend to stay on well and not kiss off as easily as lipsticks or pencils.

Make Up Games: Getting Base Colors Right

When you play with make up, one of the hardest elements to handle is your base, or the foundation. It can be purchased in many formats.

Liquid foundation is the original form of foundation that is often still used by many by many women in older generations.

Powder foundation is a very light form of coverage that is not especially concealing, but it great for younger individuals with smooth skin.

Cream foundations are found in a stick or tube and are blended onto the face. Cream foundations can also be found in packets to be applied with a sponge much like a powder compact.

When selecting a base, you should try to match your skin color as exactly as possible. Start by figuring out if your skin has warm or cool tones. If you look good in blues and bright reds, you have cool skin. If you are able to wear colors such as orange and brown well, you have warm skin tones.

Pick a foundation that has a blue undertone or a red one and then find the foundation that is right for your skin by holding it up to the back of your hand. If possible, test the foundation on the back of your hand to see how well it blends. The back of your hand has roughly the same amount of sun exposure as your face making it a good place to test.

Girls and Make Up Games

I think every girl should have a good time playing make up games. Those who are lucky enough to have a mom who sells products or a friend who just happens to work at the make up counter are ahead of the game. The rest of us have to figure it out for ourselves and that isn’t always easy to do.

You can see make up artists apply a few things on television shows, but it’s a bit misleading the way they just throw everything on a face. For girls just learning to use make up, you need a bit more practice and more examples. Make up games are the perfect way to learn.

You can play make up games at various levels. The easiest games allow you to pick certain make up colors that are immediately applied. More complex games can allow you to actually apply the make up yourself to see the results directly on the screen. Personally, I’m a fan of the complex games as they are more realistic and have the most to teach us.

Make Up Games – Learning to Apply Makeup

I remember when I learned to apply make up for the first time. It was in my room as a young teen with a bottle of base and a sponge. The color was terrible, the blending was terrible and everything about that day was fun, if unattractive.

It’s especially amusing today looking back. I was so anxious to learn how to use make up and was constantly playing make up games. Yet today I find myself without any make up on. I think those who are most comfortable in their own skin realize that make up can make you feel heavier during the course of the day instead of more beautiful. It’s great for special occasions, but learning how to play make up games for every day is just as critical as those days.

Today my make up games include very basic items such as tinted moisturizer, lip gloss and maybe mascara. I’m fortunate to have smooth skin and the tinted moisturizer gives me a bit of a glow. Dark mascara takes care of the eyes and gloss is all I need to finish out the look with luscious lips.

Make Up Games – Getting Enough Sun Protection

When you play outside over the summer you need lots of protection from the sun. And the only way to get that kind of protection is to actively plan to prevent the sun’s rays from touching your skin or by blocking them when they get there.

A Hat
Your best choice to block most f the sun’s rays from your face is a hat. Get a ballcap, a cowgirl hat, a fedora, a sombrero or whatever else you’d like to wear with your outfit that day to block the sun from every reaching your face. The better job you do with a hat when you’re outside, the less you have to worry about other kinds of protection, although they are certainly still important.

Moisturizer with Sunscreen
If you don’t want to wear a sunscreen by itself, you can sneak one in by using a high quality moisturizer that also contains sunscreen. The higher SPF you can get in your moisturizer the better off you’ll be. Look for at least 30 if you’re going to be doing more than walking across the mall parking lot.

Lip Protection
Your lips are some of the most sensitive skin on your body and they can be hurt in the sun’s rays. Use a special stick of SPF lipstick, gloss or chapstick to keep them moisturized and out of danger.

Make Up Games – Simple Summer Makeup

Summer is a great time to scale back your makeup and to keep it simple. The sun is actually good for your skin to a degree, but too much make up on in the sun can encourage grease and oil to form and then to become trapped between the layer of makeup and your skin.

Tinted Moisturizer – Look for a moisturizer that has a tint to it. Ideally it should also have sunscreen to give you a light coverage that will also help to keep you protected from the sun’s more harmful rays.

Blush – A quick swipe of blush over your cheeks will help be sure you have the healthy summer glow.

Waterproof Mascara – Good waterproof mascara won’t feel clumpy on your eyelashes, so get a great one and then put on a thin layer of mascara to help define your eyes.

Lip gloss – Create a lip gloss collection that you can amuse yourself with over the summer months. Find pretty shimmery pinks and peaches and be sure you include some fun scents and flavors to keep things interesting.

3 Ways to Improve Your Make Up Games

Make up games are wonderful the way they are, but if you want to try something new and different with your make up games, try these on for size.

1. Buy new makeup. You should be cleaning out your makeup purse pretty often as things go bad. So when you realize you’re holding onto an exposed blusher, take a look at the color and such and then chunk the bottle in the trash. Be sure to ask for your parent’s permission before buying much new makeup.

2. Just because you have it doesn’t mean you have to use it. Too often girls feel a need to use every makeup product they have. It’s better to go lightly at this age thn with too much make up that can be viewed as harsh. Better to have quiet confidence and use only the projects you have to do to get the project done correctly.

3. Wash your face. It’s critically important that you wash your face when you’re done playing make up games. Wash your face well to remove all traces of the make up and with that you’ll be removing a great deal of mess, quite frankly, that can cause breakouts including pimples and zits.
