Make Up Games and Aging

It’s funny really that the girls who enjoy wearing make up are the ones who actually need it the least. Make up games aren’t anything new, but the young and beautiful girls are the ones who are often wearing the most make up, while those of us who are aging and starting to show some lines and wrinkles aren’t doing enough with our make up games to hid the more obvious signs of aging. More often than not, I’ve walked out of my house without any make up on at all, and I used to be obsessed with getting my full face of make up games on before the day really started.

Make up games aren’t just for teenagers and young adults. As women age, make up games are a great way to help hide features of our faces that aren’t as attractive and bring attention to the areas where we really shine. Adding a bit of blush to make us look more alive and the a bit of powder to decrease shine is almost as impressive as a quick swipe of mascara. It takes five minutes to put on a new face in the mornings – it’s simply a habit I’m going to need to work on.

Make Up Games or Lack Thereof

I think I’ve decided to stop playing make up games for a while. I haven’t been very good about putting on a new face of make up every day and now that it’s summer, it’s even harder to come up with a reason to get fully dressed every day. It seems like the first thing I do every morning is walk outside and start sweating anyhow – why would I put on a bunch of make up so that I can just sweat it all off again? It seems like a true waste to me, at least.

Of course, there is a great reason to play make up games. I want to look great, and it’s hard to look your best when you have bags under your eyes and your skin is splotchy and not shining with youth and health. In fact, this summer my skin has been entirely too shiny, but with oils, not youth. In the last month or so of summer, I’m looking forward to coming up with a plan for make up games in the fall. If I make the plan now and start to practice, I’ll be able to enjoy looking great once the weather cools off at least.
